What you need:
Ingredients (4 servings)
1 package of 454 g Unisoya vegetable tofu with vegetables
1 cup edamame
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 tablespoons maple syrup
½ tablespoon zested fresh ginger
½ tablespoon Sambal Oelek
2 tablespoons chives
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Freshly ground pepper
The instructions:
Cut the block of tofu into cubes. Mix them in a bowl with the cornstarch.
Melt the butter in a non-stick skillet and add the tofu cubes.
Cook over medium heat for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring constantly, or until the pieces are well grilled.
In a container, combine the hoisin sauce, soy sauce, maple syrup, ginger, and Sambal Oelek.
Add the liquid mixture to the tofu when grilled. Mix over low heat for 2 minutes, add the edamame, and cook for 2 more minutes.
When ready, add the chives.
When serving, add the sesame seeds.
Serve with basmati rice or vegetables, such as grilled carrots, or add to a bed of rice noodles or a spinach salad.
