Tofu marinade (4 to 6 servings):
1 package of 454 g Regular Unisoya tofu
4 tablespoons maple syrup
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
2 teaspoons garlic powder
Salt and pepper
1 tablespoon of canola oil
1 tablespoon of salted butter
Cut the block of tofu into thin slices, about the thickness of bacon. The thinner the pieces, and the crispier the bacon will be!
Prepare the tofu marinade, add the slices, and let sit for 2 hours (or 24 hours for more taste).
Cook the tofu in a non-stick pan with the oil and butter for about 6 minutes or until the pieces are toasted. Turn them halfway through.
Add salt and pepper to taste
Serve on a bed of pasta, on a salad or in a sandwich!
